This is a picture of my favorite anime couple of all time. AyaxToya from Ayashi no Ceres! I finally got the first 12 episodes on dvd! So I'm really happy. So I decided to draw a picture of Toya and Aya. So here it is!! This is also for my 11,000 page view mark! This was colored in prisma colored pencils! Please leave a Comment!
Ah what kinda comment should I leave? This is very good and just leaving the "oh I love it" kinda comment is not really my thing.
Well perhaps the guy's eye could have used a bit more care.. one looks like -.- while the other eye feels more like > .<, and ya know, for such a closeup, I would had expected their eyebrows to be a bit more than just a thin line Hmm... I don't know what to think of her hair strands.. they are long, but keep a steady width, I am not sure most people's hair are usually drawn like that.. they normally have varying width to give it a more "flowing" kind of feeling. The way ya colored that pink.. um... stripe-lace (or whatever it is) so that it looks like it's intertwined with the hair might be a good concept, but well... it just doesn't cuts it right, because many of the hair strands are very close and on the same plane, so that pink thing just doesn't turns and bends good enough to make it believable (the way it passes back and front of the strands, that is) and the same could be said on the shirt part that goes over her shoulder.
May I point out that the part of his wrist (the arm behind her back)doesn't feels natural? The wrist is thin alright, but the way it "grows" into the forearm does not follows the natural flow of the forearms shape (altough it could be laziness on the coloring job over her shirt in that area? Yeah it looks more like that, that piece of skin was probably meant as shirt more than a bump of flesh). I have to wonder about the guy's jacket... is it in military style, or the darker areas are actually shades of the jacket? If they are the shading of the jacket, they seem so diffuse over the jacket that you just don't get a sense of "where the light is coming from" anymore, but then again, that was never an easy thing to do... specially if you consider the media used for coloring ^.^o
...phew.. who would had said.. I thought this was good enough that I wouldn't find anything to comment about. I guess if you look hard enough one can always find something to nitpick about Oh and don't take me wrong, I do like the image (afterall I was drawn by the thumbnail to come take a closer look, wasn't I?)
This is so beautiful! I'm with you, this couple rocks!!!(I got the 7th volume of Ceres(manga) today - and it so rocks!!) awesome job with the picture. You got them so well!!! I love the coloring!!!!
